The denominator of a rational number is greater than its numerator by 3 .If numerator is increased by 14 and denominator is decreased by 3,the new number becomes 11/4 . What is the original number​

let numerator be x

denominator = x+3

x+14/x=11/4

4x+56=11x

7x=56

x=8

so,originl number=8/11
