The denominator of a rational number is greater than its numerator by 3 if 3 is subtracted from the numerator & 2 is added to its denominator, the new number becomes find the original number.​

Let the required number its numerator by 3.

∴y=x+3.(1)

Also,

y

∴y=x+31)

y+2x−3=51

5(x−3)=y+2

5x−15=(x+3)+2

5x−15=x+5

5x−x=15+5

⇒x=420=5

the value of x in equation (1), we have

y=5+3=8

Required no. =85
