the denominator of a rational number is greater than its numerator by 4 if the number is increased by 11 and the denominator is decreased by 1 the new number become 7/3 find the orginal number​

let the numerator = x

So, denominator=-x+4

Number= x+4

According to question,

x+11 = 7

x+4-1 3

⟹3(x+11)=7(x+3)

⟹4x=12

⟹x=3

Hence, original number = 7
