the denominator of a rational number is greater than its numerator by 7 if the numerator is increased by the 17 and the denominator decreased by 6the new number became 2 find the original number

Let numerator be x
Then denominator will be x+7
Numerator is increased by 17
Denominator is decreased by 6
New numerator= x+17
New denominator= x+7-6 = x+1
Rational number=
 \frac{x + 17}{x + 1}
so,
According to your question,
x+17/x+1 = 2
By transposing, we can find..
and if you see the picture, you can say that x=15, that's your answer.....
