let the numerator be x

And denominator be x+7

ATQ,

X+17/x+7-6=2

X+17/x+1=2

X+17=2x+2

Therefore, x=15

Hence, fraction= 15/22

Answer:

origional rational no: is 15/22

Step-by-step explanation:

let denominator be 'x'

and numerator be 'x+7' (as it it greater to it by 7)

so,

your equation is: x / x+7 -----------------------------------------------------(1)

if numerator is increased by 17, then equation will be:

x+17 / x+7

if denominator is decreased by 6:

equation is:

x+17 / (x+7)-6 = 2

or

x+17 / x+1 = 2

(by transposing denominator to RHS)

x+17 = 2(x+1)

x+17 = 2x+2

-2x+x = 2-17

-x = -15

x = 15

substituting x in (1):

= 15 / 22

hope this helps you. thank you for asking this question.
