Ans:

let the numerator be 'n' and the denominator be 'd'

thus the rational number is given by 'n/d'

given that, the denominator is greater than the numerator by 10 i.e

d= n+10

now,the rational no. becomes 'n/(n+10)'

Now given that if numerator is increased by 1 and the denominator is decreased by 1, then the no. becomes 'n+1/(n+10-1)' = n+1/(n+9)

therefore, the new expression for the denominator is 'n+9'
