Answer:-

D = N - 5

(N + 5)/D = 11/6

(N + 5)/(N - 5) = 11/6

6N + 30 = 11N - 55

5N = 85

N = 17

D = 12

Answer:

let the rational number be 'x' .

........

Step-by-step explanation:

denominator of rational number = x-5

numerator of rational number = x+5

now,

5 is added to the numerator ,

the new number becomes 11/6

according to the question,

x+5/x-5=11/6

6(x+5)=11(x-5)

6x-11x= -55x-30

-5x = -85

x= 85/5

x= 17

now put the value of 'x' in denominator and numerator.

the original rational number= x+5/x-5

= 17+5/17-5

= 22/12is the answer.
