Let the numerator be "x"
The denominator is 3 more than numerator
Thus denominator becomes"x+3"
the fraction becomes
x/x+3
Now 5 is added to both parts
which makes
the numerator
x+5
and the denominator
x+3+5

thus
x+5/x+8=4/5
By cross multiplication
5x+25=4x+32
x=7
thus,
The original fraction is 7/7+3=7/10

Hi !

Let the numerator be "x" and the denominator be x + 3.

A.T.Q =>

 \frac{x + 5}{x + 3 + 5}  =  \frac{4}{5}

 \frac{x + 5}{x + 8} = \frac{4}{5}

5(x + 5) = 4(x+8)
5x + 25 = 4x + 32

5x - 4x = 32 - 25

x = 7

Numerator is 7
Denominator is 7 +3  = 10

-------------------------------------------------
The fraction is 7/10
