The denomirator of a rational number is greater than its numerator by 3.If numerator is increased by 14and denomirator is decreased by 3, the new number becomes 11/4 . What is the original number​

Answer:

let rational number in the form of x/y

a/c to question,

y = x +3 -----(1)

again,

(x +14)/( y -3) = 11/4

4x +56 = 11y -33

4x + 56 = 11(x +3) -33 { from equation (1)

4x +56 = 11x +33 -33

7x = 56

x =8

so, y = x +3 = 11

hence rational number = 8/11
