find the volume by taking 1000g as mass
as molality is no of moles per 1 kg of solvent
volume = mass/density
= 900.9 ml
therefore it is the volume of solvent
but we need the volume of solution for that at mass of naoh =40g
now Vol of solute =36ml
therefore volume of solution=936ml
now molarity of solution=
no of moles per liter of solution
therefore 3x1000/936=3.2M

Dhananjay9988: i am sorry that i have not multipled 40 g with 3
