Given info : The density of He is 1.5 g/L.

To find : What is the density of oxygen under the same condition of temperature and pressure.

solution : density of a gas is given by, d = PM/RT

where M is molecular weight of gas, T is temperature in Kelvin , P is Pressure and R is universal gas constant.

under the same temperature and pressure,

d ∝ M

⇒d₁/d₂ = M₁/M₂

for He, d₁ = 1.5 g/L and M₁ = 4g/mol

for O₂, d₂ = ? and M₂ = 32g/mol

now 1.5/d₂ = 4/32

⇒1.5 × 8 = d₂

⇒d₂ = 12 g/L

Therefore the density of oxygen under the same temperature and pressure is 12 g/L.
