The density of the water in a swimming pool is 1000kg/m^3. The pool is 3m deep. i) What is the pressure of water at the bottom of the pool?
ii)Another pool has the same depth of water in it, but has twice the area.
State the pressure of the water at the bottom of pool

Answer:

P = dgh

= 1000× 10× 3= 30000 pascal or 30kP

as P in fluid depends on depth and not on base area so pressure in second case is same
