Design brief is document for a particular design and an appliance for cleaning project made by any person/team  in consultation with the 'client'.

They outline the deliverables and scope of any project including any products/works (function and aesthetics), timing and budget.

Used for many projects including those in fields of interior design and industrial design.

Design briefs used to evaluate effectiveness of design after production and during creation process to keep project on track and on budget.

Firms depends on them more but there is a greater moves towards accountability in design process where people find them useful.

A design brief is a written description of what a new project or product should perform, materials or sources needed to produce it, how long it will take to complete the project, etc.

An effective design brief is the single most critical factor in ensuring that a project is successful or not. It also gives some idea about the costing of the project.
