Angiosperms have a characteristic feature of Double fertilization that comprises of Syngamy(fusion of 1 male nuclei with the egg nuclei) and triple fusion(fusion of the diploid nuclei of the secondary cell with the nuclei of second male sperm entering the the embryo sac). The endosperm formed as the result of the triple fusion generally preceds embryo development because:
1. Endosperm is a nutritive tissue, from which the growing embryo gets its nourishment via a haustorium or suspensor.
