Given : -

The diagonal of a quadrilateral shaped ground is 34 m and the perpendiculars dropped on it from theremaining opposite vertices are 6 m and 11 m. Find the area of the ground.

To Find : -

Area

Answer : -

Here, Diagonal AC = 34 m

Perpendicular DX = 11 m

And, perpendicular BY = 6 m

Therefore, sum of perpendicular = DX + BY = 11+6 m = 17 m

Now, area of quadrilateral = 1/2 × AC × (DX+BY) = 1/2 × 34 m × 17 m = 1 × 17 m × 17 m

= 1 × 289 m

= 289 m
