As we know that diagonal of rectangle divides it into two right angles triangles.

Considering diagonal as hypotenuse and breadth as height.

h = 34 cm

p = 16 cm

Let the length of triangle = b

Using Pythagoras Theorem.

h² = p² + b²

(34)² - (16)² = b²

As it is in the form of a² - b² = (a+b)(a-b)

b² = (34 + 16)(34 - 16)

b = √900

b = 30 cm

Again, For Area of Rectangle.

Ar(Rectangle) = p × b

Ar(Rectangle) = 16 × 30

Ar(Rectangle) = 480 cm²

Hence,

The area of rectangle = A = 480 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

------------------------------

AC2 = AB2 + BC2 (By Pythagoras theorem)

(34)2 = l2 + (16)2

1156 = l2 + 256

l2 = 1156 – 256

l2 = 900

l = √900 = 30 cm

area = l x b = 30 x 16 = 480 cm2

(i) 30 cm (ii) 480 cm2

hope this helps you ☺️
