hooo user the shortest side =x ,. then longer side =14+x. diagnol side =28+x ,by applying pythogoas theorem ,diagnol side^2=longer side ^2+shortest side^2

The sides of the rectangle are :-
42cm \: and \: 56cm

Please refer the above photograph for the used process.

KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER :-

☸️ MIDDLE TERM SPLITTING
In this process the given equation is factorized by splitting the middle term of the equation
(refer to the last step of the attachment)

☸️ PROPERTIES OF RECTANGLE :-

♗The diagonals of a rectangle are equal and bisect each other.

♗opposite sides of a rectangle are parallel.

♗opposite sides of a rectangle are congruent.

♗opposite angles of a rectangle are congruent.

♗All four angles of a rectangle are right angles.

♗The diagonals of a rectangle are congruent.

☸️ PYTHAGORAS THEOREM
The theorem is only applicable in right angled triangles. It states that :-

H² = P² + B²
