diagonal length of rectangle,

=square root of 8^2+6^2

=square root of 64+36

=square root of 100

=10

since diagonal length of square and rectangle are equal length of the diagonal of the square is 10cm

side length of square is

x^2+x^2=10^2

2x^2=100

x^2=50

x=square root of 50

area = (side)^2

=(square root of 50)^2

= 50 cm^2

area of square is 50 sq. cm
