Let side of square be x
Therefore, Diagonal of square = x√2(By Pythagoras theorem)
x \sqrt{2} = 12 \\ x = \frac{12}{ \sqrt{2} } \\ x = 6 \sqrt{2}
Area =
6 \sqrt{2} \times 6 \sqrt{2} = 72 {cm }^{2} \\
Perimeter=4 × side
= 4 × 6√2
24√2cm

ANSWER :
~~~~~~~~~
AREA = 144cm^2
PERIMETER = 48cm
GIVEN :
~~~~~~~
Diagonal of square = 12 cm

TO FIND :
~~~~~~~~~
Area and Perimeter of square
SOLUTION :
~~~~~~~~~~

Area of square is (side)^2 = a^2

We know that ,
{ If diagonals of a square is given then area of square will be a^2 = d^2 }

Area of square = (12)^2

a^2 = 144

a = √144

a = 12

Hence the side of square is【12 cm】

Perimeter of square = 4×a

4 × 12 = 48 cm

【 AREA OF SQUARE = 144cm^2 】

【 PERIMETER OF SQUARE = 48cm】
