Answer:

Let side of square be x

by Pythagoras theorem,

x²+x²=(14)²

2x²=196

x²=98 ..........(i)

x=√98cm

or x=9.23

area of square=x²

from (i),

x²=98

∴area of square=98cm²

Answer:

Length of side of square = x = 7√2 cm.

And

Area of square = 98 cm^2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The diagonal of a square = 14 cm

Let the side of square be x.

Then,

The diagonal of a square = 14 cm

√2 × side of square = 14 cm

√2 × x = 14 cm

x = 14/√2 cm

x = 7√2 cm

Length of side of square = x = 72 cm.

Area of square = (side)^2

Area of square = (x)^2

Area of square = (7√2 cm)^2

Area of square = 98 cm^2.

Hence,

Side of square = x = 7√2 cm.

Side of square = x = 7√2 cm.Area of square = 98 cm^2.

Here,

Length of side of square = x = 7√2 cm.

And

Area of square = 98 cm^2.
