Then,

• Let each side of the square be x.

• Height = x
• Base = x
• Hypotenuse = 7cm

Applying Pythagoras theorem

⇢ AC² = AD² + DC²

⇢ (7)² = (x)² + (x)²

⇢ 49 = x² + x²

⇢ 2x² = 49

⇢ x² = 49/2

⇢ x² = 24.5

⇢ x = √24.5

⇢ x = 4.94 cm (approx)
