length of diagonal of a cube = √12 cm

Recall that length of diagonal of a cube = √3 × Length of edge of the cube

⇒ √12 = √3 × Length of edge of the cube

∴ Length of edge of the cube = √12 / √3 = 2√3 / √3 = 2

Thus the edge of the given cube is 2 cm

kkoushik096: I am not asked root 12 just 12

In cube ABCD all the sides are equal.

Diagonal = 12cm= AC

Sides =AB = BC = x

By Pythagoras Theoram :-

AB^2 + BC ^2 = AC ^2

x^2 + x^2 = 12

2 x^2 = 12

x^2 = 10

x = square root of 10

So the edge of the cube is square root of 10 cm .
