The diagonal of following quadrilateral ABCD is 30 cm long, and length of perpendiculars

dropped on diagonal are 12 cm and 9 cm. Find its area.​

Solution :-

Given that,

  • The diagonal of quadrilateral is 30cm
  • The length of perpendiculars dropped on diagonal are 12cm and 9cm.

According the question,

As we know that,

Area of quadrilateral = 1/2 × diagonal × sum of the lengths of perpendicular lying on diagonal,

Area = 1/2 × 30 × ( 12 + 9 )

Area = 1/2 × 30 × 21

Area = 1 × 15 × 21

Area = 15 × 21

Area = 315

The area of quadrilateral is 315cm².
