The diagonals of a rhombus are in the ratio 3 : 4. If the longer diagonal is 12 cm, then find the area of
the rhombus.​

Solution :-

Let us assume that, diagonals of a rhombus are 4x and 3x Respectively.

As,

➼ 4x > 3x.

So ,

➼ Longer diagonal = 12cm.

➼ 4x = 12cm.

Dividing both sides by 4,

➼ x = 3 .

Therefore,

➼ Longer diagonal = 12cm.

➼ shorter diagonal = 3x = 3 * 3 = 9cm.

Hence,

➼ Area = (1/2) * Diagonal 1 * Diagonal 2.

➼ Area = (1/2) * 12 * 9

➼ Area = 6 * 9

Area = 54 cm².
