Given that :-

If the edge of cube be 'a' units then,

Edge of cube = $\sqrt{3a \:}units {}$

Therefore,

√3a = √12

a =$\dfrac{√12}{√3}$

a = √4

a = 2 CM

Hence, The edge of cube = 2 CM.
