The diagram shows four blocks, each made of glass of density 2.6 g/ cm3. The top of each block has an area of 1 cm2. Which block has a mass of 13 g?
Answers
Given : there are given four blocks. each made of glass of density 2.6 g/cm³. The top of each block has an area of 1cm².
To check : which block has a mass of 13g.
solution : volume of block of mass 13g , V = mass/ density
= 13g/(2.6 g/cm³)
= 5 cm³
each block has an area of 1cm²
so, volume of block = area of block × height
⇒5cm³ = 1cm² × height of block
⇒height of block = 5cm³/1cm² = 5cm
Therefore height of block is 5 cm. hence block C has a mass of 13g.
