Answer:1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

As diameter and height of cylinder and cone are equal therefore their radius will be equal. As the cone will be on eBay third of the cylinder therefore it's ratio will be 1/3.

Since diameter is equal, radius will also be equal.

Given:

Radii are equal

Heights are equal

To find:

Ratio of volumes of cylinder and cone

[OR BASICALLY]

Vol(Cylinder) : Vol(Cone)

Proof:

Let radius be r and height be h in both cases.

Volume of a cylinder is pi*r*r*h

Volume of a cone is (1/3)*pi*r*r*h

Pi*r*r*h : (1/3)*pi*r*r*h = Vol(Cylinder) : Vol(Cone)

By cancelling equal terms on both sides, we get

1:1/3 = 3:1

Therefore Vol(Cylinder) : Vol(Cone) = 3:1

This is the required answer. Hope it helped! :D
