To find : The volume of the cylinder ?

Solution :

Now,

→ Diameter = 2 * Radius

→ Radius = Diameter/2

{according to given}

→ Radius = 14/2

→ Radius = 7 cm

Now, by formula of curved surface area of cylinder.

→ curved surface area = 2 * π * r * h

[ Where,

  • π = 22/7
  • r = radius
  • h = height ]

{now, according to given}

→ 220 = 2 * 22/7 * 7 * h

→ 220 = 2 * 22 * h

→ 220 = 44 * h i.e.

→ h = 220/44

→ h = 5 cm

Now, by formula of volume of cylinder

→ volume of cylinder = π * r² * h

→ volume of cylinder = 22/7 * ( 7 )² * 5

→ volume of cylinder = 22/7 * 49 * 5

→ volume of cylinder = 22 * 7 * 5

→ volume of cylinder = 22 * 35

→ volume of cylinder = 770 cm³

Answer : Hence, the volume of the cylinder is 770 cm³.
