Radius of the cylinder

$= \frac{28}{2}$

=14 cm

Formula

$Curved\ surface\ area\ of\ a\ cylinder = 2\pi r h$

where r = radius, h = height

$\pi = \frac{22}{7}$ , r = 14cm , h =40 cm

put in the formula

$= \frac{2\times22\times14\times40}{7}$

= 3520 cm²

Formula

$Total \ surface\ area = 2 \pi r (r + h)$

put the value

$\pi = \frac{22}{7}$ , r = 14cm , h =40 cm

we get

$= \frac{2\times22\times14 (14 +40)}{7}$

$= \frac{2\times22\times14\times54}{7}$

= 4752cm²

Formula

$Area\ of\ cylinder = \pi r^{2} h$

put

$\pi = \frac{22}{7}$ , r = 14cm , h =40 cm

$= \frac{22\times14\times14\times40}{7}$
