7000 revolutions made by wheel of diameter 1 m to cover distance of 22 km.

Given  : The diameter of a wheel is 1 m.

To Find : The number of revolutions it will make to travel a distance of 22 km

Solution:

diameter of a wheel  = 1 m

Circumference of a circle = π * diameter

Circumference of  wheel  = π * 1

=> Circumference of  wheel  = π  m

Distance covered in one revolution = Circumference of wheel

Hence Distance covered in one revolution = π  m

Let say number of revolutions = n to cover 22 km

1 km =  1000 m

=> 22 km = 22000 m

Distance covered in 1 revolution = π  m

=> Distance covered in n revolution = nπ  m

Equate Distance

nπ = 22000

use π = 22/7

=> n (22/7) = 22000

=> n = 7000

Hence, 7000 revolutions made by wheel of diameter 1 m to cover distance of 22 km.
