Question :

★The diameter of a wheel of a car is 1.4m. How many revolutions will it take to cover a distance of 44km

Answer :

Given-

• Diameter= 1.4m; so, radius would be 0.7m

• Total distance = 44km = 44000m

Here,

The distance covered in one revolution = Circumference of the wheel

= 2πr

 = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 0.7m

Simplify

 = 2 \times 22 \times 0.1

 = 4.4m

Now , total distance= 44000m {given}

and , Distance covered in one revolution=4.4m {found above}

Here,

The total no. of revolution

 =  \frac{total \: distance}{distance \: travelled \: in \: one \: revolution}

 =  \frac{44000}{4.4}

after simplifying

 = 10000

So, it would take 10,000 revolutions to complete the journey...
