Given : The diameter of a wheel of a motorcycle is 63 cm.

To find : How many revolutions will it make to travel 99 km?

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the required number of revolutions)

First of all, we have to calculate the circumference of the wheel of the motorcycle.

Now, circumference of the wheel of the motorcycle :

= π × Diameter

= (22/7) × (63)

= 198 cm

= (198÷100) m [As, 1m = 100cm]

= 1.98 m

And,

The circumference = Distance travelled in one revolution

Total travelling distance = 99 km = (99 × 1000) = 99000 m

[As, 1m = 100cm]

So,

1.98 m travelled in = 1 revolution

1 m travelled in = 1/1.98 revolution

99000 m travelled in = (1×99000)/1.98 revolutions

or, 99 km travelled in = 50000 revolutions [As, 99km = 99000m]

(This will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, it will make 50000 revolutions to travel 99 km.
