The diameter of internal and external surfaces of a hollow spherical shell are 6 cm and 10 cm respectively. If it is melted and recast into a solid cylinder of height 8cm, find the diameter of the cylinder.​

volume of shell = (4/3) pi (5^3-3^3)

let the radius of the cylinder be r

volume of the cylinder=pi r^2 ×8

pi r^2 ×8 = (4/3)pi (5^3-3^3)

r^2= (4/3)(125-27)/8

r^2=98/6=49/3

r=7/√3=7√3/3

diameter= 14√3/3 Ans
