The diameter of internal and external surfaces of a hollow
spherical shell are 6 cm and 10 cm respectively. If it is melted
and recast into a solid cylinder of height 2 2/3 find the diameter of the cylinder​

internal radius of hollow spherical shell- 6/2 = 3 cm

external diameter of hollow spherical shell - 10cm

internal diameter of hollow spherical shell- 10/2 = 5cm

Let diameter of cylinder be - X cm

Radius of cylinder = X/2 cm

Height of Cylinder = 8/3 cm

ATQ :- volume of cylinder= volume of spherical shell

π ( x/2)² (8/3) = 4/3π (5³-3³)

= 8πx²/ 12 = 4/3π (98)

= 2/3 x² = 4/3 (98)

= x²= 49

x= 7 cm

Radius = 7cm

Diameter= 14 cm
