Given that ,

The diameter of upper and lower ends of a bucket in the form of a bucket of a cone are 10 cm and 30 cm respectively.

So , diameter of both ends of the bucket will be 5 cm and 15 cm.

R1 = 15 cm ,
r2 = 5 cm ,
H = 24 cm ,
L = ?

On putting values ,

● L = √( h^2 ) + ( R1 - r2 )^2

L = √( 24)^2 + ( 15 - 5 )^2

L = √( 567 ) + ( 10 )^2

L = √567 + 100

L = √676

L = 26

1) = Area of metal sheet used to make bucket ==>

● Curved surface area of frustum + Area of the base.

By putting the values , we get

==> π . l ( R + r ) + π . r^2

==> 3.14 × 26 ( 15 + 5 ) + 3.14 ( 5 )^2

==> 3.14 × 26 ( 20 ) + 3.14 × 25

==> 3.14 × 520 + 78.5

==> 1632.80 + 78.5

==> 1711.3

2) = We should avoid the bucket made by ordinary plastics becoz ordinary plastics are non eco-friendly and causes pollution.

So , due to the non - biodegradable property of ordinary plastics avoid us to made bucket.

It also decreases fertility of soil and on burning causes air pollution which is harmful for human being as well as soil.

Radius of lower end ->5cm

Radius of upper end -> 15cm

Slant height - >√((h^2+(R-r) ^2))

√24^2 + (15-5)^2

√576 + 100

√676

l = 26cm

Now,

Curved surface area - π (R+r) l

π (15+5) (26)

26 (20)π

520π

Note - In the question value of π is given

520 (3.14)

1632.8 cm^2

1) Total surface area of metal sheet used to make the bucket -> CSA + Area of base

1632.8 + 78.5 = 1711.3cm^2

2) Value -

We should not use bucket made of plastic as it is non - biodegradable and due to this pollution is caused. Also environment is affected.
