the diameter of two circular plates are respectively 10cm and 24cm .what is the diameter of the plates which has area equal to the combined area of the two given plates?

superman5: ok.r1=10/2=5,r2=24/2=12. so according to the question π( r1)2+π(r2)2=πR2. after putting the value of r1 and r2 and cancel π both side you will get R2=169, R=13cm. so diameter=2*13=26cm

dear,
here is u r questionn's hint........
r1=5,area=πr^2=22/7*25=

r2=12,area=πr^2=22/7*144
now after adding these two areas,
22/7*25+22/7*144=π(R1)^2
22/7(25+144)=22/7*R1^2
R1^2=169
R1=13cm
now as we know that diameter =2R=2*13=26cm.
