the diameters of the lower and upper ends of the bucket in the form of a frustum of a cone are 10 cm and 30 cm . if the height is 24 cm find the area of the metal sheet to make the bucket

Let r1=30/2= 15 cm

and r2 = 10/2 = 5 cm

Given h=24 cm

Slant height, l =

root [h^2 + (r1-r2)^2]

=root (24^2 + 10^2)

=26 cm

Area of metal sheet required

= CSA of frustum + Base area

= pie l (r1+r2) + pie r2^2

= 22/7 × 26 × (15+5) + [22/7 ×25]

= 22/7 [ 520 + 25]

= 22/7 (545)

=1712.85 cm Sq.
