here we find

                   1.    2r = 8cm

                           r = 4cm

          area=(4*22/7*16)cm2

                   2.   2R = 12cm

                           R = 6cm

          area=(4*22/7*36)cm2

so,the ratio of the area of two circles are

                   =4*22/7*16:4*22/7*36

                   =16:36

                   =4:9
