the difference between 2 numbers is 7. six times the smaller number plus the larger is 77 . find the numbers with solution

Let x and y be the two numbers such that x > y .
Then,
x-y = 7
=> x = 7+y ---------(i)
And,
6y + x = 77
=> 6y + 7 + y = 77
=> 7y = 77-7
=> 7y = 70
=> y = 70/7
=> y = 10 ------(ii)
Using eqn(ii) in eqn(i),we get
x = 7+10 = 17
Therefore, the numbers are 17 and 10
