the difference between ages of two cousins is 10 years 15 years ago if the elder one was twice as old as the younger one find their present ages

Let the present age of younger cousin be x years

The present age of elder cousin =(x+10) years

Age of the younger cousin 15 years ago =(x-15)

years

Age of Elder cousin 15 years ago=(x+10-15)

=(x-5) years

according to the question

x-5=2 (x-15)

x-5=2x-30

-5+30=2x-x

25=x

x= 25 years

The present age the younger cousin =25 years

The present age the elder cousin =25+10

=35 years
