Block disintegration
1. It occur in well jointed rock such as granit.
2. It is particularly effective in areas with great diurnal range of temperature ( 10°C to 15°C or more) and barren rocks without a protective vegetation cover, e.g in desert region.
Granular disintegration
1. It is process of physical or mechanical weathering due to repeated heating or cooling as a result of temperature changes.
2.Rocks usually compose of different type of minerals. The dark coloured minerals e.g mica in granite. Absorb more heat and so heated up faster.
