Answer:

26/12 or 14/12 cm

3 or 2 cm ( assuming 3 times rather than 3 times more)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Length = L  cm

Breadth = L -1  cm

Perimeter = 2 ( L + L -1) = 4L - 2cm

7 cm added to Length = L + 7 cm

3 cm added to Breadth = L -1 + 3 = L + 2 cm

New Perimeter = 2 ( L +7 + L + 2) = 4L + 18 cm

New perimeter = 3 times more than Previous perimeter

=> New Perimeter = Previous Perimeter + 3 * Previous Perimeter

=> New Perimeter = 4 * Previous perimeter

=> 4 L + 18 = 4 * (4L -2)

=> 18 + 8 = 16L -4L

=> 26 = 12L

=> L = 26/12  cm

Breadth = 14/12  cm

out of 26/12 & 14/12 cm any one can be length

But looks like questioner wants to say new perimeter = 3 * previous perimeter

then

4L + 18 = 3 * (4L -2)

=> 4L + 18 = 12L - 6

=> 8L = 24

=> L =3  cm

Breadth = 2  cm

Length can be either of 3 or 2 cm
