The difference between outside and inside radii of a metallic cylindrical pipe of length 14cm is 2cm. If the pipe is made of 440cm^3 of metal, find the outer and inner radii of the pipe.​

22/7 *(R^2 - r^2) × 14 = 440

R^2 - r^2 = 10

(R- r)(R + r) = 10 => R + r = 10/2 = 5

R + r = 5 ---(2)

on adding (1) & (2) we have

= 2R = 7 => R = 3.5cm & r = 3.5 - 2= 1.5 cm

outer radii = 3.5 cm & inner radii

= 1.5cm
