Given :-

• The difference between present ages of Ravali and Swarna is 9 years
• After 7 years, Ravali’s age is twice of Swarna’s age.

Find :-

• Ravali’s age after 4 years?

Explanation

Let,

• Age of Ravali = x years
• Age of Swarna = y years

A/C to qiestion,

(The difference between present ages of Ravali and Swarna is 9 years)

==> x - y = 9 -------(1)

Again,

(After 7 years, Ravali’s age is twice of Swarna’s age.)

==> (x+7) = 2 × (y+7)

==> x - 2y = 14 - 7

==> x - 2y = 7 ---------(2)

Sub. equ(1) & equ(2)

==> -y + 2y = 9 - 7

==> y = 2

Keep Value of y in equ(1)

==> x - 2 = 9

==> x = 9 + 2

==> x = 11

Hence

• Present Age of Ravali = 11 years
• Present age of Swarna = 2 years
