The difference between squares of two numbers is 120.The square of smaller number is twice the greater number.Find the numbers.​

Given that,

a² - b² = 120 -(1)

b² = 2a. -(2)

Substituting (2) in (1) we get

a²−2a−120=0

→ a²− 12a + 10a − 120 = 0

→ a (a−12) + 10(a−12) = 0

→ (a+10) (a−12) = 0

→ a = 12

b = √2 × 12 = 2√6
