Let the present age of younger person be x

After 15 years, x - 15

Let the present age of elder person be x + 10

15 years ago it will be x + 10 - 15 => x + 5

According to the question,

x - 5 = 2(x - 15)

x - 5 = 2x - 30

x - 2x = -30 + 5

\cancel{-}x = \cancel{-}25

x = 25

\star{} Younger person's age => x => 25 years

\star{} Elder person's age => x + 10 => 25 + 10 => 35 years

BrainlyPrincess: mine is right. See the other user's answer. its also right
BrainlyPrincess: zlaughterqueen in question it is being written fifteen years ago and not after
SillySam: dear Tumne dhoke se after likh diya
SillySam: second line dekho
abhi569: Correction in second line. The word 'after' represents the future, it should be ( x + 15 ).. But in the question 'ago' is written not after.... So after will be replaced by ago in second line

Let the age of younger  one  be  x  and   age  of  elder  one  be  x + 10

Now

Age  of  younger one  (15 years ago) = x - 15

Age  of  elder one  ( 15 years ago ) = x + 10 - 15  = x - 5

According to question, elder one was twice as old as the younger one

elder = 2 × younger

x - 5 = 2(x - 15)

x - 5 = 2x - 30

30 - 5 = x

x  = 25

Age  of elder one  = x + 10  = 25 + 10  = 35 years
