Answer:IVE PROVIDED THE SOL. PLS ASSUME EITHER BASE OR ALTITUDE X. I WAS NOT ABLE TO UNDERSTAND:)

AREA OF TRIANGLE =1/2 *BASE*HEIGHT

                              48    =1/2 *X*X+4

                              96= -X²+4X

                               X²+4X-96=0

                               X²+12X-8X-96=0

                                X(X+12)-8(X+12)=0

                                (X-8)(X+12)=0

                              X=8  AS MEASURE CANNOT BE -V

(X+4)=12

Answer:

let base be x+4

then

altitude be x

area=1/2*base*height=48cm2

1/2 × (x+4) (x)

  1. =1/2 × x+4×x=48cm2

1/2×x2 + 4x =48cm2

x2 +4x = 96 cm2

Step-by-step explanation:

Now i guess you can solve it by yourself.
