Given :

Difference betweem Circumference and Radius of a circle = 37 cm

We know that

  • Cicumference of a circle = 2πr units
  • Radius of circle = r units

 \Rightarrow \sf 2\pi r - r = 37 \\ \\

 \Rightarrow \sf r(2\pi - 1) = 37 \\ \\

 \Rightarrow \sf r \bigg(2 \big( \frac{22}{7}) - 1 \bigg) = 37 \\ \\

 \Rightarrow \sf r \bigg(\frac{44 - 7}{7} \bigg) = 37 \\ \\

 \Rightarrow \sf r \bigg(\frac{37}{7} \bigg) = 37 \\ \\

 \Rightarrow \sf r = 7 \\ \\

Area of the circle = πr² sq.units = 22/7 × 7² = 22 × 7 = 154 cm²

Hence the area of the circle is 154 cm² ( Option B )
