Let the Principal be x

Time = 2yrs

Rate = 5%

So, SI = x.2.5/100

= x/10

CI = x[ (1+ 5/100)² - 1]

= x [(105/100)² - 1²]

= x (105/100+1)(105/100 - 1]

= 41x /400

BTP

41x/400 - X/10 = 40

=> x/400= 40

=> x = 16000
