The difference between the greatest 4-digit number with repetition of digits and
the smallest 3-digit number with 3 distinct digits will be
Answers
Answer:
The smallest 4-digit positive integer is 1000 and the largest 3-digit positive integer is 999, so the difference between them is 1.
If negative numbers are allowed, then the smallest 4-digit integer is -9999 and the largest 3-digit integer is 999; -9999 = 999 = -10998.
The original question, the one which I answered, was “What is the difference between the smallest 4-digit number and the largest 3-digit number?” This is the second time a question has been changed after I have answered it to make my answer look like nonsense. Is this someone’s idea of a joke, or does someone actually think that there is no difference between “What is the difference between the smallest 4-digit number and the largest 3-digit number?” and “What is the difference between the largest 4-digit number and the smallest 3-digit number?”? Am I the only person who finds the deliberate alterations of questions after they have been answered, thereby causing the writers of the answers to look like fools, to be dishonest?
